A wearer of many hats — art director, photographer, designer, mother, wife & slow-living maestro.

I’m Charlie

Blanket wearing, flower growing, fell chasing, wild swimming, DIY-ing, video game playing, fantasy book reading, free spirit, who also designs stuff.

I'm a brand designer and photographer based in the ever-dramatic and always evolving rolling Yorkshire hills. Creativity is my lifeline; it is ingrained into everything I do; in every action I take, there is a smidge of creativity embedded. Outside of designing brands and websites (and snapping really cool photographs for brands) I have two lovely children and i’m married to an incredible man. If i’m not working you’ll find me baking, cooking or reading under my duvet.

Frequent Blanket Wearer.

Lover Of Irish Folk Tunes.

Supporter of Chips and Dip.

Wondering about my Experience? I’m Glad You Asked.

I studied Interior Architecture at The University of Huddersfield, where I developed my skills in visual communication and design thinking through practice-based learning. It was here I fell in love with designing spaces for people—creating environments that bring joy and comfort into their lives. After graduating, I spent four years working as an interior designer, but over time, I realised it wasn’t quite where my heart was. After a whole lot of soul searching (and many cups of tea), I took the leap into something completely new—and haven’t looked back since.

Now, with over ten years of design experience under my belt, I’ve worked with hundreds of creatives and photographers to bring their visions to life through brand design, website design, art direction, and photography. I bring a thoughtful, people-first approach to every project—blending storytelling, strategy, and intentional design to help creatives feel seen and confident in their online presence.

Most of the time, I am a one-woman band, but Our Kindred wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for my soulmate, Matt.

Most of the time, I am a one-woman band, but Our Kindred wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for my soulmate my cheerleader and partner in crime in all things creative over at @wendly. We are inseparable— always connected through our shared passion for creativity. When we're not out creating or chasing after our two boys (or hanging out with our house bunnies), you'll find us exploring the Yorkshire countryside together or in the kitchen dancing to Irish folk whilst something divine cooks away on the stove. Matts's unwavering support - and endless love are what give me the fuel to my creative fire.

A cozy scene with a woman sitting on a bed, facing a bearded man who is lying down and holding a mug. The room appears calm and softly lit.

I believe that we should all take our time with things that matter to us, embracing the moments of small and pushing away the idea everything has to happen here and now. I build everything upon the idea that business can be slow and considered, that as brands, we should weave authentic stories through design, photography and the way we communicate.
